Madonna Learning Center
A couple of years ago I made horse treats for Christmas presents for all of my friends at the barn. All the horses loved them, and my friends asked for more. Right then I knew I had the idea for my business, and I could get my dad off my back.
As the business grew, it became apparent to me that I was not able to do all the work myself. I needed help. Plus, as I thought about it more, I also wanted to find a way to help people and give back. That is when a friend of mine came to mind — a student in Madonna Learning Center’s Adult Program. This program teaches kids with Down Syndrome to develop their work habits and independent living skills. My friend’s mom told me that they needed something like this for the kids, and soon thereafter a partnership was struck!
I have had an opportunity to work with some of the most fantastic, loving people in my life through this adventure. The kids get excited. I get excited. And we all have a great time making Pony Pucks for you and your best friend. At first, I thought this would be a great learning experience for the kids in the program, but I know now that I have benefited more than they have. (Plus Madonna gets $5 for every unit sold…a small token that goes a long to support their efforts.)
Madonna Learning Center is a warm, loving environment where kids go to get help learning to overcome Down Syndrome. All you have to do is go to their web site and look at the story of “Sam” to see what they do. It is amazing! We at Pony Pucks are excited to help give the kids work to do in their training program and donate almost 40% of the sale price of each Pony Puck Order.
